I’m Lloyd Ramby. I’ve been writing songs and playing music for as long as I can remember.

Thinking back, I can remember coming up with lyrics to a song when I was 13, while following our boat on a pair of water ski’s and singing them as loud as I could. When I finally fell, my step mom asked me what I was singing because no-one in the boat could hear me but they could tell I was obviously ski-singing.

I found minor (very minor) success when I was 30, when Steve Lynn recorded my single “Stop and Go” and I’ve written many songs since.
I took a slight detour in 1991, when I decided to go back to school and get my degree as a doctor of Chiropractic. I spent the next 25 years in practice and it didn’t leave much time for writing.

In 2019, realizing time was running out, I proposed a deal with God. I ask him if he would help me to semi-retire from practice so that I could spend more time working on my music. I proposed, if he helped me achieve that goal, I would continue to practice part time at a low price and take care of my community.
After our conversation, within a year he made it happen. Something that seemed impossible at the time.

From 2019 – 2024, I’ve really focused on writing but I realized that my songs would go nowhere if my family was the only people to hear them so I started gigging. My wife and I moved to Roatan, a small tourist island off the coast of Honduras. I played tiki bars and resorts all across the island of Roatan initially while volunteering as a missionary doctor at Clinica Esperanza. My wife, Angela, graciously sang with me to help me with the stage-fright.

During covid, we moved back to the states and settled in Crystal Beach, Tx, just across the ferry from Galveston.

I spent 6 months working with Hayden Nicholas, who has co-written many number one songs with Clint Black and he is also Clint’s lead guitarist. He worked with me on refining my song structure and maintaining verbal structures within the tempo and that was time well spent….actually that time was invaluable because it transformed the way I wrote.

Since then, I’ve started gigging more to get my music heard.

Recently, I performed in songwriter showcase, where my music caught the attention of Mary Minter, director for the Country Music Association of Texas.  Mary has been instrumental in helping me bring my songs even more current for today’s expectations.

I still take care of patients in this little community and they are very supportive, allowing me the time I need to pursue my music ambitions, and for that, I’m extremely grateful!
